Now, skiing, hiking, biking, and fantastic views are minutes away. At the base of the mountain take the hiking trails or board the mountain gondola for year round recreation, breathtaking views, and a mountain resort. Stop at Waterfall Canyon for more hiking, the Via Ferrata (safe, iron rung climbing) plus rock or ice climbing. From there, take the gondola to 6,900 ft. in Malan’s Basin and stop at the South Tyrolean style resort offering shopping, dining, lodging, and outdoor recreation with more trails. This vehicle-free pedestrian village will be designed and built using the best “green” practices to respect the environment. Sightseers and mountain sports enthusiasts can take the gondola further to a stop at 8,500 ft. and, after Forest Service approval, on to a gentle ridge at 9,300 ft. that overlooks both Snow Basin and Malan’s Basin.
