Downtown Gondola

This project makes Ogden the only city in the U.S connected to a ski resort, and consequently will bring new tourism and shopping to downtown. The uniqueness has brought six ski companies to Ogden within the past 18 months (Descente, Goode, Scott USA, Rossignol, Kahuna, and Snowsports Interactive). They know from a downtown office they can walk to the gondola, ski with clients, test products, do photo shoots, etc. The downtown gondola will keep traffic out of neighborhoods and in downtown where we need it. It also connects the Front Runner (commuter rail), to Weber State University. With the downtown gondola, you can fly into Salt Lake International Airport, take the Front Runner to Ogden, and then ride the gondola to the new Junction mall, Weber State University, a new golf course, or a new mountain resort in Malan’s Basin.

1. First stop: commuter rail, car, bus and gondola access.
2. The Junction Mall stop will load on the second floor of a new hotel. Stop here for downtown shopping, lodging and plenty
of parking.
3. The stop at 23rd St. and Harrison will allow students and Ogden residents quick access to WSU and the resort in
Malan’s Basin.
4. Stop at the bottom of WSU for lower campus activities,
theatre, and lectures.
5. Stop at the top of WSU for upper campus activities, golf, and WSU football games. Board the mountain gondola for sightseeing, skiing, hiking, biking, climbing, etc.
